Emotional "Nesting" Confessions

We are nearing the end of this pregnancy. I'm thankful. I'm anxious. I'm nervous and very emotional. All "normal" feelings, right?? I hope so!

At our very first prenatal appointment months ago, my doctor said to me, "don't worry about feeling like you can't love the second as much as your first born...you absolutely will, you'll see!" How did she know this thought was crossing my mind?

Oh, how that question has been on my mind ever since...especially lately! Just the other night, I burst into tears as I was folding baby clothes. Not just any clothes, JACK'S first little clothes!! The very little jammies we brought him home in, I was holding in my hands as I teared up and cried!! How was it possible that he grew from that newborn size to the perfect little-3-year-old he is now? The time flew by in a blink, everyone said it would...and now we're about to start all over with a new baby, but why am I so teary and sad?

I'm worried about being away from Jack while in the hospital. I am nervous that Jack will miss being our "only child" and resent his baby brother. I worry that I won't remember how to care for an infant!!?! I'm hopeful that it is just pregnancy hormones getting the best of me, and that, once we hold this little "peanut" we've been waiting for, my anxiety and worry about having two babies...will just melt away.

I wanted to share my "nesting confessions" in hopes that I find out that... (a.) I'm not crazy for feeling anxious about becoming a mom of 2 and (b.)I'm not alone!  :) Please tell me I'm not crazy?? If not, just humor me! :)

In any case, I'm cherishing these last few weeks with Jack, just he and I. We're so blessed to have this time together. I can't thank my husband enough for working hard to make it possible. I do my best to remind him daily, how grateful I am.

We'll be meeting our "little peanut" in a few short weeks. Nesting will continue as I'm sure my emotional outbursts, but we are very excited to welcome our baby soon. :)

If you have advise to share about this, please do so! Email me or comment below!

Baby Sprinkle for Baby Prose #2!

My fabulous friends put on a beautiful little party to celebrate Baby Prose #2! These hostesses were amazing! Delicious food, perfect details and the most fun games, I think everyone had a wonderful time! I didn't want it to end! :) Baby Prose #2 is already loved and I felt so special to have amazing family and friends come to celebrate!

Perfect details! The dessert table complete with candy station, cookies and of course cake!

How adorable is this ombre cake??

One of the games was writing us little late night messages on diapers! I can't wait to start to reading these for a late night laugh!!! So much fun!!!

Baby Prose got the cutest little outfits! I'm getting very excited to dress up another little man! :) Our friends and family were so generous with the most thoughtful gifts for us! My heart was full!

One of the sweetest moments of the shower, was when my sweet friend Erica asked to feel the baby move. Not only did she have the sweetest reaction, but my sister-in-law caught the moment on camera! As you'll see in the pictures below, her excitement to feel the baby move is followed by shock, then sweet emotional tears of joy! :) Priceless.

A big thank you to my family and friends who drove from all over the state to come to the baby sprinkle!

My sister Taylor and my Mom drove over from Orlando!

My mother-in-law, Teresa drove in from New Port Richey & my sister-in-law, Brie drove from Jacksonville to celebrate Baby Prose!

There aren't enough words to express my gratitude to my friends for working together to plan such a perfect party! To all the wonderful women in my life that took time from their day to come celebrate our baby boy, I love you all and appreciate your love and friendship!

FL Favorites & Zephryhills!

As a proud Tampa resident and blogger, I was recently invited to participate in Zephyrhills' 50th anniversary celebration campaign to help benefit Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful and Tampa Bay Watch, each wonderful organizations that work towards river-clean up, recycling efforts and much more in our communities!

So, how is Zephyrhills helping to keep Tampa Bay beautiful?? Zephyrhills launched a campaign to encourage Tampa Bay residents to share their favorite things about Florida, by posting and sharing on Twitter, Instagram and the brand's Facebook page with the hashtag #FLfavorites! For every post, Zephyrhills will donate $1 {up to $50,000} to help support clean-up projects with the great organizations mentioned earlier!

Zephyrhills Water has already kicked-off many events around the Tampa Bay area to promote the '50 Things We Love About Florida' campaign and you can find more on their Facebook page, by clicking here!

You can check out a #FLfavorites this Saturday {June 21st} when WaterVentures traveling learning lab visits the St. Pete Museum of History!

So, get out there, snap a photo and share your #FLfavorites for this great cause!!

Growing Bump continues!

All the books and daily emails say, at 34 weeks baby is the size of a cantaloupe....I feel like he's already the size of a giant watermelon!!! Jack's most commonly used phrase these days is..."Mommy, your tummy is HUGE!" - thanks buddy, I know. :) I do love that he's aware of my growing belly and the baby inside. He asks daily how big the baby is and has started singing to my belly in the mornings to feel him move, which completely melts my heart.

We'll be starting weekly doctor visits this week until baby Prose {who still doesn't have a name} makes his arrival. Braxton Hicks contractions officially began a couple weeks ago, but thankfully haven't been too consistent...yet.

Our little guy will be attending a Big Brother class offered at our hospital in a couple weeks, so we are looking forward to that! We already know he's going to be a great big brother, but he's excited about practicing to change diapers at a special class just for big brothers! :)

Until next week! What size will baby be then? Let's hear your guesses! No cheating though!!! :)

Playing catch up!

I know it's been a LONG time since my last post, but it's been a crazy month! I know once the baby arrives, it will only continue, so I'll do my best to play catch up on all that's been going on with Prose & Company!! :)

#BabyProseComingSoon (check out the hashtag on Instagram!)

We are currently 34 weeks, still measuring ahead, but healthy! Unless baby Prose #2 decides to make his appearance early {big bro was 2 weeks early} we should expect to meet him near the middle of July! So, the countdown is on! I've got more baby belly shots coming soon too!

#Proseswed

Most of the month of May we spent getting ready for a road trip to Chattanooga, TN for my brother in law's wedding.  My handsome guys were part of the wedding party...Mike was one of the best men and Jack, was one of the ring bearers! I've posted a sneak peak below, but visit the hashtag {#proseswed} on Instagram to see more photos! It was a beautiful wedding! Chattanooga was a great little town and we really enjoyed our stay and the chance to site see with family.

100 year old Grand Oak Tree falls on our roof! :(

Upon our return from Chattanooga, we came home to very stormy weather. There was so much rain while we were away and it just continued.  The branches of that beautiful oak tree were so heavy from all the rain, that the tree finally snapped and fell on our roof! It was devastating, but thankfully no one was hurt. The 100+ year old live oak, did some pretty good damage to our porch and roof. It forced us out of our house for 3 days, while we waited for the tree to be removed, the electrician to repair the riser and then Tampa Electric to reconnect our power.
We are incredibly grateful for our friends, the Drummond family, for taking us in so we didn't have to live in a hotel with a 3 year old and 2 dogs for those few days! We are still dealing with our homeowners insurance to get everything back to normal, but hopefully we'll have a new roof before baby Prose arrives! :)

I'll post more on my growing bump, our last family trip of 3 to Disney and my beautiful baby sprinkle thrown by my sweet friends this month, so stay tuned!
