Christmas at Busch Gardens

Roller coasters, the great food, the animals...we all love Busch Gardens! Have you been at Christmas time?

We spent a Sunday evening at Christmas Town at Busch Gardens and we had a great time!

There is so much to see and do inside Christmas Town Village!

Our family arrived just as the sun was setting and those beautiful lights began twinkling away as we walked through the entrance of the park to find more beautiful light displays after the other!

Our boys were anxious to see Santa, so we made our way to the North Pole, inside the park of course! ;) We were welcomed by more beautifully lit trees and great festive decorations!

Christmas Town at Busch Gardens has wonderful character Meet & Greets, including Santa & Mrs. Claus and Rudolph & friends! And, they've planned out the experience perfectly for a more personal visit!
You can upgrade your park ticket for Priority Access and skip the lines to meet Santa & all the other characters, pricing for this unique option start at $25.  Check ahead before your visit for this option for exact availability, however the alternative is great too! You can wait in line for a pager! Just like in a restaurant, you will receive a special pager and come back when you're nearing your time slot & your pager will buzz for your turn!

The pager system allowed us to roam the park and check out more of Christmas Town, while we waited for our turn to see Santa! Our turn came sooner than we expected & little did we know, surprises were waiting for us around every corner of Santa's House!!

Selfies with Elves, secret passwords to open Santa's door & cookies were just some of the special touches you'll find during your very special visit with Santa!

Our experience visiting Santa at Busch Gardens was one of the most special to date! I couldn't believe how personal and magical our visit was! It was the highlight of the night!

Once we finished chatting with Santa (and Mom got her pictures) we enjoyed cookies with the elves and off we went to the next character stop, Rudolph's Winter Wonderland! The boys met all the great characters from the Christmas classic, Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer! We also took advantage of the pager system again & it was perfect!

I think it goes with out saying that the character Meet & Greets were popular in our family, especially our three-year-old, Max! Big brother was more excited about the Christmas carnival games inside the Christmas Town Village & getting a big bowl of Dippin' Dots!

Mom & Dad were excited to try the savory Chicken & Waffles available inside Christmas Town Village!

We didn't ride any roller coasters that night, but they were open and roaring for the thrill seekers! We left with out catching all of the Christmas Shows & riding the Jingle Bell Express, but that's why the option of becoming an Annual Pass Holder, is so appealing! With your annual pass, you can come visit Christmas Town at Busch Gardens anytime during the holiday season! -- This might be on my wish list for Santa now! :) There great offers right now for extra savings on an Annual Pass/Fun Card, so be sure to check that out for any last minute gift ideas!!

If you're looking for a great family-friendly Christmas activity, this is the place! There is something for everyone! We had a snow much at Christmas Town! Although we would have loved real snow, the bubble snowfall, along with all the beautiful lights & our amazing Santa visit, Christmas was in the air at Busch Gardens

Christmas Town will be open select dates until December 31st

A big thank you to Busch Gardens & Mommy Spot Tampa Bay for the invitation to the Busch Gardens Christmas Town experience! We had a fantastic time!

From my family to yours, hope you have a very Merry Christmas!

Here's a look at all the fun that awaits:

Before we stepped into the icy 9 degrees, yes... you read that right- 9 degrees, we enjoyed a lovely show by the talented acrobats and dancers with Cirque Dreams Unwrapped! It was full of color and music and flying acrobats in the beautiful atrium of the Gaylord Palms! The boys loved it, especially the fun snowfall at the end!! :)

Following the show, we made it down to the Alpine Village, where we could throw snow balls, ride an indoor snow tube, and enjoy yummy donuts courtesy of Krispy Kreme!

And, did I mention we met Gingerbread cookies?? The boys loved them! A few of Charlie Brown's pals were also there, but they were stepping out for a cookie break, so hopefully you can catch them next time! Special visits with Mrs. Claus & the big man himself, Santa can be scheduled on your visit to Gaylord Palms Resort!

Onto the bone chilling 9 degrees!!! My Florida boys were game and we really enjoyed all the beautiful ice sculptures inside!!

**Important note: Bring your winter gloves, hats and extra layers! Although the wonderful staff provide parkas before entering, it was super helpful having a few layers on the boys underneath!

How about this amazing ice slide??

It's a must see for sure! Just don't forget those warm layers!! Hot Cocoa awaits you when you come out & lots of other activities too! Lego Ninjago Movie || 3 Things You Need To Know

If you have a little guy at home, chances are, you've heard of Lego Ninjago. If you haven't, you will. Lord Garmadon will make sure of it. (A little Ninjago humor) ;)

Lego Ninjago, is a popular TV series and Lego toys of teenage fighting ninjas, protecting and saving their home, Ninjago City! Like the Lego movies before it, The Lego Ninjago Movie, will inspire many little Lego fans to find their own inner 'piece' and quickly become a favorite for families and Lego fans of all ages!

3 Things To Know About The Lego Ninjago Movie:

  • Boys will love it. Mine are 6.5 and 3. There's ninja and kung fu fighting, but no blood or extreme violence.
  • Adults will laugh. I laughed out loud a few times actually.
  • A positive message. The importance of courage and believing in yourself will hopefully, remain long past the movie theater.
My boys really loved this movie. Jack, my oldest said his favorite part was all the action and the tea cup throwing! Max, my three year old said, "It was cool! More popcorn peeeesse!" :)

And this Mom, agrees! It really was a great movie! Expect a few butt jokes and some crude humor, but the great soundtrack, 80's references & parental humor will make up for it! There's a great cast, including a cameo by Good Morning America stars in Lego form and did I mention the great music? Spoiler Alert!! Master Wu can play a mean flute jam!! ;)  We all left the theater giving the movie, two ninja thumbs up!!

A big thanks to Legoland Florida Florida for inviting us to this early screening! I was instantly catapulted into the Coolest Mom Ever, for one night at least! :)

The Lego Ninjago Movie, opens this Friday, September 22nd!

The Art of The Brick

The new art scene in town...

Presented by the Vinik Family Foundation, this exceptional art installation by award winning artist, Nathan Sawaya is a must see!

The Art of The Brick will run from June 23rd through September 4th.

What you need to know to plan your visit:

  • It's FREE! Thanks to the generosity of the Vinik Family Foundation!
  • No reservations are necessary
  • The exhibit will be open Wednesday through Sunday, 10 am - 6 pm
  • Parking will be available in the surrounding lots & street parking is available too!
  • Kids are welcome! (Just encourage them to be mindful not to touch the Lego art!)
The boys and I got a sneak peek before the doors opened on opening day and... 'Everything was AWESOME'!! We all enjoyed it & will be going back again very soon!!

This cool, peace symbol, was one of my favorites! A little insider tip for you, the bricks used here, were actually Lego bricks donated from families all over the country! Instead of throwing them away, Sawaya recycled them into some of his artwork! Any piece you'll see with multi-colored bricks, are the up cycled Legos!!

This piece, called Dinosaur, is the largest structure Sawaya has built yet. This T-Rex measures 20 feet in length and took 80, 020 bricks to build!!

This piece, simply named, Yellow, is Sawaya's best-known piece. His inspiration, his own personal metamorphosis on his journeys. My boys, loved the explosion of Lego's in his chest! :)

Life imitates art... These boys loved being thinkers, like our green friend! :)

And the best part of this exhibit for kids... The Brick Yard!! Before heading out, make time to stop and build your own Lego art! You can even leave your creation on display for others to enjoy and gather inspiration! My Master Builder, Jack proudly displayed his piece, The Mansion of the Brick.

Zeus, was specially designed for the Vinik Family by the artist, Nathan Sawaya! Go Bolts!!

The Art Of The Brick, has visited over 80 cities worldwide and now, Tampa!! Don't let the Summer get away with out a stop to this exhibit!! It's truly, amazing!! We'll be back soon to check out the pieces we missed, and maybe we'll see you there!!

A big thanks to the friends at Art of the Brick Tampa for inviting us to enjoy a little VIP experience that day!
