June Great Outdoors Month

Did you know that in 2019, June was official designated as 'Great Outdoors Month?' We love enjoying quality family time in the great outdoors!

A couple weeks ago, we visited Rainbow Springs State Park again to kayak with family.
It's really such a beautiful spot.

Looking for something to enjoy with your family in the great outdoors, just not sure where to go? I'm sharing a list of some ideas you can enjoy with your family this Summer!

Rainbow Springs State Park is one of our favorite spots to sneak away. You can swim in the chilly springs, canoe or kayak down the river. To read more about this spot, I shared more details in another post, here

Weedon Island Preserve is another great spot to rent kayaks and float through the mangroves.

Pack a picnic and go fishing! Between the Gulf and all the lakes and rivers in Tampa Bay, there are so many places to go for an afternoon of fishing. To check out the best fishing spots in Tampa, visit HillsboroughCounty.org

Hillsborough River State Park for camping, or a hike! Camping in Florida in the Summer is less than ideal, but you can find great cabins on Air Bnb or rent an RV! We've been camping for many years, more often in the Fall and Winter, but renting an RV is on our bucket list to do soon!

Plan a beach day! We are so fortunate to have some of the most beautiful beaches in Tampa Bay! There's never a shortage of family fun at the beach! Some of our favorites, Fort Desoto and Indian Rocks Beach in Pinellas County.

It can be as simple as having a picnic outside and doing a scavenger hunt or plan a bigger excursion with the family! But, get outside and explore with your loved ones! You won't regret it! :)
