World Kindness Day

This post was shared a couple years ago, but I think it will always be relevant. ❤️

On November 13th, as a part of World Kindness Day, we are encouraged to spread kindness like confetti!

Created in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement, the movement encouraged the world to show kindness to others. This unofficial holiday encourages people to be kind to each other and spread happiness by sharing random acts of kindness.

How will you celebrate?

The virtue of kindness, is learned by practicing it in your daily life. The boys and I took to the streets to celebrate! Here's a few suggestions for some random acts of kindness you can do to spread kindness to others, each and everyday!

  • Thank a soldier, any person in uniform. (We do this anytime we see someone in uniform!)
  • Pay for someone's coffee.
  • Leave flowers or treats for a neighbor.
  • Donate toys and/or food to a shelter.
  • Leave someone a sweet note.

Being kind, isn't a new concept, but it's often forgotten. My boys often hear me say, "Please be kind to each other, are those kind words?"

I want them to always remember to be kind and to be respectful of others. It's our job as parents to encourage that. The world we live in today, needs more of this. Even if, just for just one day, World Kindness Day, can you do something simple to show kindness to a stranger? Let's start a domino effect!

Happy World Kindness Day to you friends! I'd love to hear how you share kindness in your neighborhood & communities!
