Buried Treasure with Pasta?

Jack loves to "search for treasure", but with out having a regular sandbox to search and dig for things, makes our game more of "hide and seek" for treasure!

We don't own a sand box, in fact, I cringe at the thought of Jack getting sandy and dirty, and really...maybe its because I'm a girly-girl, but I try to avoid sandboxes and dirt piles all together; but I know, I'll have to give in to my boy's desires to get dirty some day, just not today! :)

So, this Mommy wanted to find an alternative that would allow the same play time with trucks and digging for treasure! I searched our favorite search engine, no not google, PINTEREST and found a great and easy way to dye pasta so Jack could have colorful pasta noodles and shells to dig through!

He had a blast "painting" the pasta shells and it was super easy! For the original tutorial I followed, click here :)

We've made more since then, but this Mommy forgot to take more photos, sorry! :)

My growing baby bump!

It's my second time, growing a tiny human in my body and I wanted to do something fun to document my pregnancy this time around! With the help of my handsome guys, here's a look at my baby bump through the weeks!

Watching the number on the scale go up isn't the most fun, but it's a blessing to have this little "peanut" as Jack likes to call the baby, growing inside me. I'll never take this amazing gift for granted, but I am making a concentrated effort this time around to stay fit and eat healthy. We are all excited for the months ahead as we continue to prepare for Baby Prose #2 to arrive.

Check back, as I'll update with more baby bump photos in the coming weeks!

Ikea Kids Academy

Do you have a love/hate relationship for Ikea? I did too, until I learned what I'm about to share with you! Yours might change to a little bit more love too! :)

Ikea Tampa Kids Academy

What is it you ask? It's a Free kids activity + Free kids lunch during each weekly/monthly session at Ikea! {Depending on your local Ikea store of course}

On a recent visit to Ikea a couple weeks ago, I noticed a small flyer out of the corner of my eye during checkout. It wasn't large, it wasn't advertised anywhere else, but it caught my interest! A list of children's activities for the next month! Yes! Being a stay-at-home mom, I am always looking for fun things for Jack and I to do together & of course anything FREE is a major plus!

Our first visit to Ikea Kids Academy was this past Monday. Jack built his own strawberry shortcake, in honor of The Strawberry Festival that kicked off this past weekend! He received a t-shirt and his very own membership card, that we'll use to collect stamps after each visit towards a special prize after 8 sessions!

He had a great time and it was a win-win for us both! He got to make his shortcake and get a free kids lunch & Mommy got to check out the new arrivals at Ikea! :)

We'll be back next week to paint our own plant pot for spring time gardening! Any local pals want to join us? Just let me know! The sessions are Mondays from 11 am - 12 pm. To check your own local Ikea store for Kids Academy activities, click here! Or call your local store!
